A custom sized paddle made to fit your body can truly impact its performance on the water. And chances are high that it’s gentler on your body at the same time.

Each Machaon Wood Creations Greenland Paddle is custom made to fit your body and kayak.

• The length of the paddle is relating to your height.

• The loom (shaft) is tailored to your shoulder width and the kayak’s beam in length as well as your handsize in diameter.

• An important feature of a Greenland Paddle is a comfortable grip at the end of the blade for an extended paddle position in sweep or bracing strokes.

We also adjust the measurements and features of every paddle to its intended main use:

• General Touring – With a nice even blend of lightweight, elasticity and strength, this paddle is gentle on your body as you travel along the coast line but can be relied on for your sweep strokes, braces or roll when the need arises.

• Powerplay – A beefed up, stiffer paddle with adapted blade shape for use in surf or in rockgardens. Fiberglass reinforcement or hardwood / fiberglass tips are recommended for added tip protection.

• Rolling – This paddle features shorter blades but more stiffness than a touring paddle.

• A Storm Paddle has the same blade shape and size as a touring paddle combined with a loom length of maximum two fists wide. Storm Paddles are paddled with a sliding stroke only. This dynamic stroke is minimizing blade exposure to the wind, or it can be used just for the fun of having your hands move around on the paddle throughout the stroke.
